Checking-in at one of the high-end beach resorts in Mactan might be too pricey. But there is a good news for budget travelers because most of the beach resorts in Mactan Island offer day tours. Hence, one can still enjoy the amenities of these luxury resorts by availing their day tours. Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort is one of the high-end beach resorts in Mactan. It’s located at Buyong Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City and is only 15 minutes away from Cebu International Airport.
A day tour/ day pass in the resort costs Php 1,200 (27.91 USD) from Sundays to Wednesdays and Php 1,500 (34.88 USD) from Thursdays to Saturdays. It’s inclusive of Php 700 (16.28 USD) worth of consumables at the restaurant of the resort. But if you don’t want to avail the Php 700 (16.28 USD) consumable, then you can only pay for the resort’s entrance fee, which is Php 700 (16.28 USD) from Sundays to Wednesdays and Php 800 (18.60 USD) from Thursdays to Saturdays. For those who want to save money, you can just eat before coming to the resort and only pay for the resort’s entrance fee.
At the front desk
A day tour in the resort gives you the privilege to use the resort’s white-sand beach and three huge swimming pools from 8:00am-5:00pm. So make sure to come here early so you can enjoy a full day in the resort. It took 45 mins. by taxi from our pension house in Cebu City to the beach resort. We arrived here at around 10am and we proceeded to the front desk to pay for our day tours. The resort accepts cash and all major type of credit cards. After paying our day pass, the receptionist gave us a map of the entire beach resort. We went inside right away because I was so excited to see the place. The staffs were friendly and they greeted us with a warm smile. We headed to the beach first. I have heard that Maribago Bluewater has one of the best white sand beaches in Mactan Island and I was fascinated when I saw the beach.
The beach front is lovely although I heard that since the original sand in Mactan Island isn’t as white as Boracay or Bantayan, the resort extracted white sand from other islands and transfered it to the beach. The beach looks clean though and well-maintained. There are also lots of beach chairs for you to sit on and relax. Most of the guests that we saw in the resort were Koreans and Western tourists.

The resort covers a total of 10 hectares. It’s divided into 3 main sections: the beach wing, the garden wing and the amuma spa wing. The entire resort is native-styled as you can see from the design of the roofs. I was truly impressed by the resort because almost everything looks beautiful and well-maintained. The resort looks exactly as its pictures on its website.

Yup, there’s still a main swimming pool so you’ve got three big swimming pools to choose from. The main pool is located just beside Allegro restaurant.

Prices of food in Allegro Restaurant were a little bit scary 
One cup of rice is Php 40 (0.93 USD) Fortunately, we availed the Php 1,200 (USD 27.91) day pass that is inclusive of Php 700 (USD 16.28) worth of consumables, so each of us had Php 700(USD 16.28) for the meals. But honestly speaking, with that large amount of consumables, we were expecting that we could buy a lot of food from lunch to merienda. We didn’t expect that we would consume everything in just one sitting because of the high prices in the restaurant. hehe.
Thankfully, when the food finally arrived they looked very presentable and delicious!

The rooms regular rates start from Php 15,000 – Php 30,000 (348.84 USD-697.67 USD) per night but they do have internet deals and promos. The last time I checked they do have a promo and room rates start from only Php 4,000 – Php 16,000 (93.02 USD- 372.09 USD) per night. Just check out their website for their current promos and internet deals. Overall, we really enjoyed our day tour at Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort. I highly recommend this resort if you wanna hangout to a relaxing and wonderful tropical beach in Mactan Island.

very nice blog you got here. i tried to contact Maribago’s manila office and asked if they accept day tour. sabi nila meron nga daw php120o inclusive of php700 consumable sa restaurant nila. Are you sure na pwedeng entrance fee lang na 700 ang babayaran kung ayaw ng consumable na food? we’re in a tight budget kasi. mejo mahal kung php1200. can you recommend any other resorts in Mactan which is cheaper pero maganda din? someone suggested Tambuli resort pero hesitant ako kasi walang matinong website tsaka according sa mga reviews sa internet mejo luma na daw.^_^
Hello Alden 🙂 Yup, I’m sure na pwedeng entrance fee lang yung bayaran. In fact, when we went there last month, the receptionist first asked us if we would like to pay for the Php 700 entrance fee only or we would like to avail the Php 1,200 package which includes the P700 food consumables. Monday kami nagpunta nun.
So far, Maribago Bluewater palang ang napupuntahan kong resort sa Mactan. But before coming to Cebu, I also researched for an affordable but good resort in Cebu. Hesitant din ako sa Tambuli kasi mukhang hindi updated yung website. Hehe. Ang pinagpilian ko lang nun ay Cebu White Sands at Maribago Bluewater. Sa White Sands Php 600 daw ang day tour which is inclusive of Php 200 consumable.

Hi Murray! We stayed on the beach chairs. There are a lot of beach chairs available near the beach and the swimming pool.
